Purity in Marriage
The Thessalonians faced temptations and threats to sexual purity just as surely as they were humans. Teen pregnancies?, Adultery?, Rocky marriages? Yes, they had to deal with all of these just as we do today. Paul called then to sexual purity –to restrain sexual desires, to reserve sexual expression for marriage, and to respect one another’s marriage vows. Paul emphasized that these were god’s ideals, not just his. Sexual purity is God’s ideal for us.
